This checklist is dedicated to helping you choose the correct sources, along with planning your trip ahead of time - allowing for a smoother and safer experience.

Checklist

Here is where you crosscheck with your already made plan to see what you could add or take away.

From where you are departing, how far away is your destination?

This is to gauge how long it will take to get to your desired destination. This allows for planning stops for food, bathroom breaks, and/or gas.

Are there any hospitals between your Point A and Point B? If not, how far is the closest Hospital from any point between Point A and Point B.

Anything can happen on any given day, this allots for planning in case of emergencies. Knowing where the nearest hospital is on any given point through your travel is important for time management and safety.

Mark any additional points of interest between A and B. This would be: Gas Stations, Grocery Stores, Pharmacies, and save these addresses in a secure place for plausible later use.

Tying in with the previous point; knowing where your gas stations, pharmacies, and other points of interest like these is important because it saves time when time is of the essance. Having to detour for a bathroom break, or for a snack break becomes frusterating when you do not necessarily know where to go.

Be sure to utilizes trusted map services. These are typically found digitally: Google Maps and/or Apple Maps (Depending on your device's operating system).

Though technology can be confusing for some, having an indiviudal who is "tech savy" comes in handy when maps are needed. If the trip is long and unfamiliar, you will most likely need addresses of certain buildings, having Google or Apple maps open is very useful because it gives you the address without much effort or confusion.

Record and store important backup routes in the event of a detour.

No one likes detours. Having to quickly come up with a new route and/or getting lostis not ideal. Thus, having a known and calculated backup route would add grace and remove stress.

Record important emergency phone numbers for transportation services, local emergency contacts, and support services, in an easy-to-access location.

Having a select number of services you can call gives you some grace. It allows you to not have to rely soley on your vehicle (if you are driving). Having additional services like towing, local 911, and local support allows you to travel with less stress and more ease.
